M5® is a new high performance fiber chemistry with the promise to deliver a superior balance of tensile strength and modulus to any commercially available fiber. It also is being developed to have market-leading thermal and flame resistance, with potentially superior thermal damage tolerance to currently available materials. Additionally, it promises to have excellent resin adhesion characteristics that should deliver significant value in uni-directionals, woven pre-pregs, and in mechanical paper applications.

M5® is an entirely new fiber chemistry based on raw materials not currently available in commercial markets. Magellan is working to develop the underlying fiber chemistry, the supply chain for monomers, as well as the processing technology to make the new fiber. Magellan's integrated lab unit and market development facility are focused on bringing this new and innovative fiber to a commercial reality.
